Will The Skip Bin Damage My Driveway?

One  of the most frequently asked questions from our customers is whether the skip bin will damage their driveway.

There is no one answer to this, at it depends on the nature of your driveway, on the size of the bin that you order and on the type of materials going into the bin.

If your driveway is strong and you've had bins placed on your driveway in the past, then your driveway is more or less proven to be fine.  However if your driveway is known to crack under the weight, then you need to consider placing the bin outside, such as on a nature strip or on a road.

Generally speaking, when you order a 6m3 bin or larger, and will be filling it with heavy renovation or landscaping waste, chances are that the bin will be very heavy, add to this a weight of the truck and the chances of driveways cracking are very high.

If your driveway is gravel or you are about to change your driveway, then you don't need to worry.  However if you are worried about potential damage, then it is better to pay a small fee for the City Council permit than pay later to repair your driveway.
